Cynthia Davis: "I would never say such a thing!"

Rep. Cynthia Davis (R-Pluto) isn't happy with all of the attention she's received for saying that fathers aren't "natural nurturers." In fact, she's even started telling dads that she never said such a thing. Unfortunately for Cynthia, there is actual video of her statements.

Peter Baylies of the At Home Dad blog has published a dandy email from Rep. Cynthia Davis (R-Pluto), written to a father upset about her latest wacko statements. Davis told the concerned man that she would "never" suggest that fathers aren't nurturers. Here's an excerpt of her email:

I will have a talk or a letter to the editor. This I noticed that the comment about nurturers was not in quotation marks. I can assure you that I would never say such a thing especially since I am married to one of the most marvelous men in the country. He is the one who is picking up the slack at home with our children while I am at the Capitol.

I also appreciate the civil discourse which is far more helpful than some of te disparaging remarks others are making based off an editorial. Thank you for being a great dad to your children. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Sincerely,

Representative Cynthia Davis

I guess it was all just a big misunderstanding -- those, those darn liberal reporters were just putting words in her mouth! If only we could find out the truth!

Fortunately, Sarah Hollenback of KOMU-TV takes copious notes:

The full interview is available at KOMU.com. It's a treat.

What's Wrong with This Woman?

Tell me I missed something here.  Davis wrote in her email that she would  never say such a thing about men not being "nurturers."  Then I listen to the interview and that's EXACTLY what she did say!  Is this typical behavior for this woman.
