Campaign
Field Director for
Description of
Missouri Votes Conservation (MVC) is a non-partisan, statewide
organization that advocates for pro-environment legislation and political candidates
in
MVC is one of the key member organizations running the campaign to
pass a Renewable Energy Standard – known as the Clean Energy Initiative – as a
ballot initiative this November.
JOB SUMMARY
The position of Campaign Field Director will serve the campaign
for the RES ballot initiative. It is a
limited term employment position beginning in August and ending in November
2008; it will be based in
The Campaign Field Director is responsible for recruiting and
mobilizing field volunteers on behalf of the Clean Energy Initiative campaign. Strategic
tactics include: recruiting volunteers; managing volunteers and interns;
managing phone banks; running door-to-door canvasses. The Field Director also needs to understand
and serve the political and electoral goals of MVC and of the Clean Energy Initiative
campaign.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Coordinate with campaign team to implement
detailed campaign strategies for mobilizing field volunteers. This will require knowing the lay of the land and
translating that knowledge into effective campaign tactics.
2.
Recruit volunteers and communicate with
them to take action on behalf of RES campaign.
3.
Oversee and coordinate volunteer
canvasses and phone banking operations.
4.
Plan and implement visibility efforts (ie. signs, posters,
banners, etc.) for target districts.

Other duties:

Complete reports summarizing actuals from electoral strategic
plan.

Attend weekly RES campaign meetings.
·
Maintain infrastructure and volunteer tracking through data entry
and database.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
·
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
·
Strong written and oral communication skills
·
Understanding of and experience with organizing and campaign work
·
Familiarity with
·
Commitment to the goals and vision of Missouri Votes Conservation
and the renewable energy campaign.
·
Commitment to a non-partisan, issue-based agenda
·
Strong leadership skills
·
Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines with
willingness to
·
Willingness to be part of a team working towards a common goal
·
Electoral campaign experience a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS

Based in
·
Travel within MO required
·
Evening and weekend work required
·
Fast-paced and requires juggling multiple projects and meeting
deadlines
COMPENSATION
·
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
·
Reimbursement for all appropriate work-related expenses.
