Blunt Fires Ferrell When Coverup Fails And He Becomes Political Embarassment
Harassing women and retaliating against them wasn't enough cause for Governor Blunt to fire Fred Ferrell, but becoming a political liability was too much for the Governor to tolerate.
Caving to political pressure from the Farm Bureau, and despite full knowledge of Ferrell's behavior since last May, Blunt kept Ferrell in his position and even praised him for doing "a very good job." And Blunt attempted to coverup Ferrell's misdeeds, keeping the investigation secret, collecting all copies of the report from the Highway Patrol, and even allowing a state lawyer to go to court to try to prevent the allegations against Ferrell from becoming public.
But once Ferrell became a political embarrassment to the Governor, he cut him loose.
The women of Missouri now know what really matters to this Governor, and it's not creating a workplace where they can thrive, or even survive.

Maybe this is the new policy
Blunt's press release says:
"It has now become apparent that he can no longer lead the department effectively and I have today asked for and accepted his resignation,” said Blunt.
So does this mean all ineffective directors will be asked to resign?
Does it mean all ineffective directors will be asked to resign?
Only if they get caught and it becomes an embarrassment. Ethics? Who need 'em?
Although I'm sure there were more, that "show dog" label was particularly offensive, irritating, and demeaning.
