Why is Blaine Luetkemeyer still lying about a "$3k carbon tax"?

How many times will Luetkemeyer repeat the completely false claim about a $3k carbon tax before the mainstream media call him on it?
At this point, I don't think Luetkemeyer and his staff can pretend that they're the victims of bad talking points from dishonest GOP leaders. It's been debunked by innumerable nonpartisan organizations, other media -- and even the MIT professor that authored the study cited by Luetkemeyer.
It's infuriating.
