Ten for 2010: Our Most Popular Posts

It's hard to predict what will generate a lot of interest or get picked up by other writers. We certainly wouldn't have predicted that these ten post would be the most popular of the year – but here they are!

#10 - Roy Blunt Prepares for "False Attacks From Fidel Castro"
Here's a tip for anyone looking to boost their traffic: invoke a third-world dictator! In March, Roy Blunt's campaign spokesman Rich Chrismer informed the world that they were “ready for false attacks from Fidel Castro because Roy is running to repeal and replace Castro’s beloved Carnahan-ObamaCare ‘miracle’ for America.” The statement sounds as stupid today as it did then.

#9 - Legal Experts Call Fox Lawsuit "Dubious" & "Strange"
In September, Fox News sued the Robin Carnahan campaign to stop the use of an interview Chris Wallace conducted with Roy Blunt a few years ago. Fox has no problem with Republican candidates – including Roy Blunt – using their footage, though. It's almost like they're a shamelessly partisan outfit.

#8 - Roy Blunt's "K Street Jobs Tour"... Fun for the Whole Family!
Blunt presented himself as a champion of working people in his Senat ecampaign, but anyone who's been paying attention to his work in Washington knows better. This fun post looked at his real record inside the Beltway.

#7 - Tom Schweich Camp Contacted The Dandy Warhols Weeks Before Denying Connection To Their Song
We're particularly proud of this bit of reporting. Shortly after we posed questions about the striking similarities between The Dandy Warhols' "Bohemian Like You" and Ambassador Thomas Schweich's "Gimme Back My Freedom," Schweich denied any connection between the songs. But Fired Up! obtained documents from The Dandy Warhols showing that Schweich's statements to The Beacon were misleading - at best. An attorney for Schweich contacted the band in February, at which time he stated that Schweich's song "does play on a few themes from Bohemian Like You," and wrote that a "tentative title" for the song was "Conservative Like You."

#6 - Eighteen Immediate Effects of Health Care Reform Law
As Barack Obama prepared to sign the new health care reform law, this post summarized some of the key new provisions. You'll note that Death Panels and Government Takeover appear nowhere on the list – crazy, right?

#5 - Ed Martin Says Obama & Carnahan Will Take Away Freedom "To Find The Lord"
Still insane. In July, Martin appear on Gina Loudon's radio show, perhaps with the idea that no one was listening to him say crazy things on the air. But I was, and recorded him telling the audience that Democrats were fixing to take away your "the ultimate freedom to find your salvation."

#4 - Cynthia Davis Commentary Prompts Audible Gasps In Health Policy Hearing
Davis left fellow representatives and the crowd at a February hearing aghast as she shared her thoughts with a witness -- who happened to be an African American -- about the nutrition habits of 'your people' and 'your community.'

#3 - Glenn Miller's racist radio ads

Glenn Miller, a white supremacist and anti-Semite, caused quite a stir in Springfield and Kansas City with radio ads promoting his write-in candidacy for U.S. Senate.

#2 - Ed Martin Smiles in Silence as Supporter Spouts Birther Nonsense
At a March 3rd campaign event, Martin smiled from the podium as a supporter raved about WorldNetDaily.com editor Joseph Farah and Barack Obama's birth certificate. Crazy Eddie did nothing to distance himself from the radical comments.

#1 - Ruckus on the House Floor

Tempers flared in March on the House Floor as members wrapped up the budget debate. You can watch the ruckus here – a lot of people did.
