Up Coming Elections
In April, Three Rivers Community College will have two board members up for reelection. Both members have been on the board for a long time.
Of particular interest is John Stanard. While he has been on the board the quality and operation of the college has deteriorated. While the excellent faculty, staff, and boosters of the college continue to make the college worthy of accreditation, Stanard has been at the helm while TRCC has:
1. Gotten into an ill conceived costly fight with Southeast Missouri State University
2. People of quality have been chased away from the community for personal power and not the benefit of the college
3. A good honorable man who has brought dignity and glory to the college, the respected Coach Gene Bess, has had his name drug through the mud by the board.
4. Personal records of a faculty member, normally kept confidential have been made public and given to the local newspaper. Described as a real "barn burner" by Executive Vice President Kimbrow to the newspaper, the intentionally publicized investigation turned out to be a lot of hot air intended only to embarrass and NOT build up the college in any way.
5. There has been a tremendous turnover in vice-presidents because people of quality do not want their name associated with the mess Stanard has help make of the college.
6. Unqualified people have been hired, promoted, and even had positions created for them. Apparently only because of their connection in some way to Stanard.
7. The college has become a tool of political partisanship and character assassination.
8. A local accounting firm was replaced for wanting to look too deeply at funds associated with the college.
9. Stanard is now trying to create division in order to boost his own chances of re-election. It is time for unity and change.
The college is suffering. Stanard MUST go.
